European Union

EU or European Union is economic and political union with 27 state members all located in Europe. It started as the European Coal and Steel Community which was formed right after the Second World War, when the governments were looking for a way to prevent more wars in Europe, limit the nationalism and unite Western Europe during the cold war. The founders were only six – Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and West Germany. As the political and economical situation in Europe has changed, the European Union expanded to include currently 27 members – Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. One of the initial goals of the European Union is the free market which includes the free circulation of goods, capital, people and services within the EU. Once goods are in the single market of European Union they can not be subject of customs duties, taxes or import quotas, it is meant that they travel internally. The free movement of people means that all EU citizens can freely move between member states to live, work, study or retire in another country. EU is also a monetary union, with the official currency Euro, this is the second largest reserve currency as well as the second most traded currency in the world after the US dollar. European Union opens possibilities to its members by working on different programs in areas like agriculture, education, health care, infrastructure, etc. We in produced.eu will try to present to you the state members with their beautiful nationality, culture, market, production, history and people, as we believe that European Union is not only about lows and regulations but mainly for the people.
